LECTURE BY THE PVC, HON. CAPTAIN BANA SINGH

Attended the lecture delivered by the respected PVC, Hon Capt Bana Singh in Vadodara today and got to learn something very important-
1. IN PANICK, DO NOT OVERTHINK AND OVER ANALYSE-
While his paltan were climbing the highest peak of Siachen to fight the Pakistanis who had captured the peak by deceit and had a strategic advantage due to height, they had to fight not just the enemy but also the snow storm and bone freezing -45 degree temperature. Breathing was like an exercise and even though they moved with all determination, they could only climb 150 metres in 8 hours. At that time he said, the most important thing was- to not overthink about the situation. Because once you start to over-analyse the situation, sometimes you tend to lose focus and are not thinking in the moment which is very crucial.

2. STAY GROUNDED ALL THE TIME-
He was so down to earth that he rejected the offers of land and petrolpump made by the various state governments after he was conferred India's highest military award- Param Vir Chakra. He urged the people to not consider him as some kind of a hero but just a dutiful soldier who was lucky to accomplish the mission he was given. Such a humble man.

People like Captain Bana Singh are the real heroes of the nation..

Today, Bana Top, named after Bana Singh is the highest point of the highest battlefield in the world, Siachen.
